历史系男生

浑浑噩噩的熬夜看完由同名话剧改编的影片《历史系男生》。

作为一部在伦敦国家剧院票房火爆、风靡百老汇，并一举取得多项托尼奖的话剧，妙语连珠的台词无疑为其叫座叫好立下了汗马功劳。

摘抄几句，留个爪印。

1、As for truths, scripts, forget it.Knowledge, pursuit it for its own sake.Irwin所倡导的学习历史的方法，反映出东西方教育的本质差异。

对公认的史实，没有任何记诵的必要，因为所有人都知道。

学习历史的方法是，选择一个新的角度，用新的方法，新的逻辑来重新观察、挖掘、分析和思考。

从同一段历史中，找到不同的地方，这样的研究才具有价值。

Irwin的主张与国人惯常理解的“历史就是死记硬背”完全是背道而驰的。

历史是浩瀚宏大的，没有任何人能够真正全面的看得清楚。

保持开放的心态，不断的研究；或者盖棺定论，僵化为教条，这便是区别。

从一个人，到另外一人，再到另外一些人。

从地球上的一个地方到另外一个地方，从线性时间轴的一个时间段到后续的另外一个时间段。

文化在重复的被解读着，变化着，传递着，这个就是历史的意义。

文化的价值，就是这样靠一个个人传递下去而逐渐积累起来的。

Hector动情的说着，当你读书的时候，与另外一个的人相遇，被他捕获。

他抓住了你，你感受到他。

这就是文化的传递，需要沉下来，慢下来，用心，去接受。

然后，它又会以你的方式传播出去。

在大发展的年代，我们每个人不甘落后的高速奔跑着。

文化，正在被忽视和遗失。

急功近利的人是浮躁的，To Feel，也许可以是一个很短暂瞬间，但是To Feel，需要把心真正的平静下来。

这个传递的过程，光靠互联网上晃几眼八卦新闻是做不到的，努力背几本的教科书或者附庸名家大作也是徒劳。

国人就要成为贫穷得只剩人民币了！

3、How does histry happen？

History is just one fucking thing after another, nothing special, ordinary stuff.历史由一连串的偶然事件组成，这些偶然最后形成一个结果。

像蝴蝶扇动的翅膀，或者王佳芝心里打起的小鼓，这些无法确定的因素共同导致一个结果。

无所谓对错，发生了的都叫做必然。

而过程当中，任何一项的改变，都可能形成别样的结局。

这个论断中学课本告诉过我，并无新意，不过Hector的教学方式很有新意。

虚拟形态——Hector用这样的语句来设想过去的种种可能，以及结果。

课堂上的角色扮演应该是很有趣的教学模式，学生可以沉浸到历史里面，享受时空变换的戏剧体验。

角色和道具，一连串的事件和选择下来，最后形成历史。

于是更加深刻的体会到，一切存在的种种都是可变的，所以，将来永远都是不确定的！

哪怕是半小时以后也是不确定的。

只有发生过的偶然才叫做必然，只有过去的才是真正已经确定的东西。

在过去的那么多偶然，那么多巧合，那么多选择之后，才有了今天。

再从今天走向变化莫测的将来，那里还有无数的偶然在等待着发生。

原来，我们的今天竟是如此的珍贵！

我一定会好好珍惜和把握现在的。

校园片的一个特点就是励志,肯定有一位春风化雨的老师,这是必需的,然后肯定还有一位代表顽固实力的校长或是训导主任之类的反派角色.而学生方面,肯定都是内心期望着变革,可是肯定是毫无勇气挑战传统的,直到那位老师来了之后,革命的暴风雨也为之降临,而结尾毫无疑问的是,那位优秀的老师在传统的势力下默默的离开,然而他却赢得了学生的心.但是这部戏却恰恰相反,学生们居然是一群渴望得到高分的学生,对于原来老师的春风化雨式的教学方式很不买账.认为诗歌只类不过是一种浪费时间的课程,他们需要的,是可以让他们得到大学录取通知书的课程.这一点就是让人大吃一惊,还有这么势利的学生.这里面的老师也是非常的奇怪,两个用来作对比的老师有一个同样的特点,都是同性恋.只不过,一个经常对男学生动手动脚,采取很明目张胆的方式,结果,被人起诉了.而另一个,却是掩饰自己的取向,让自己看上去没什么两样.而且,他的教学方式是激进的,是直接指向目标的,却和他的生活态度也有了很大的反差.学生除了上面说到的势利之外,根本没有以往电影中那种对于传统的反叛,他们一个个的都很正常.知道什么时候该做什么,一心用功在学习上.一次次看他们从图书馆借了厚厚的一摞书,然后拼命用功的样子,真是让人感到振奋,自己的高中时代不也是一样.有一个不同的就是,他们的感情问题也是出了问题,其中一个居然爱上了自己的好朋友,当然了,也是男的.然后他向同样是同性恋的老师倾诉,当然了,没有俗套的爱上了老师,只不过老师让他从容面对而已.虽然少了情节上发展的空间,不过显得更加真实.这群男生的组合也相当的多姿多彩,传统的小白脸之外,还有一个开朗的大胖子,简直就是那个老师的翻版,而且还很愿意学女生,真是别具一格;一个运动方面的专家,说萨特非常擅长高尔夫;一个犹太人,不能自慰,而且对于集中营的惨剧认识很深;还有一个穆斯林,却被人与印度人混为一谈;还有一个黑人...总之,不是传统的白人天下,这么多的男生,总有一款适合那些女观众吧.最后的那个结尾,虽然我认为有点悲惨,一个皆大欢喜的结局难道不好?但是,当镜头慢慢的拉开,用一种回忆的语气谈论那些男生之后的生活时,一种沧桑感突然的涌上了心头,突然间,这部喜剧有了深度.它所说的不仅是大学录取前的补习课了,更变成了,一个优秀老师对于学生影响的很好的诠释.这点和其他的校园片没什么两样,可是,这样不好么?还有,这部电影的台词真是太赞了.让我们顺便体验了一下英国诗歌的美.有一个疑问,为什么同样是大学的入学考试,斯国的可以如此的多姿多彩,反身自顾,我操.真希望中国早日有这么一部影片出现,而且还是现实主义作品.http://tin1016.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!49A79B57DDF65AA1!1238.entry

这是一部关于教育、历史、人生的哲学片。

影片的主线是英国一所高中的一个班级里的7个学生，备考牛津剑桥的故事。

这所学校的校长为了提高自己中学的名誉和地位，组织了学校里最优秀的学生成立了一个剑桥牛津班，颇似中国高中的清华北大班，配备了专门的老师。

看样子这种现象不是国内的事情，其他国家也存在啊。

剧中提到了不少英国的大学，除了Cambridge,Oxford两所牛校，还有Bristol, York ,Durham,Sheffeild, Manchester,Leeds,Newcastle都是10-20名左右的很不错的大学。

能去剑桥牛津当然是每个人的梦想，但就像不是每个人都能进入清华北大一样，其他的也还有很多很优秀的大学，他们可能综合实力不如那两所，但某些研究领域却和他们一样优秀和一流。

所以，选择也不必执着，适合自己的才是最好的。

关于教育方式，hector的方式是有趣的，寓教于乐的，Irwin的方式是严谨的，挑战性的，赋予启迪性的。

这两种方式各有所长，hector的方式让大家学的开心，让大家对历史感兴趣而自己去学习；Irwin的方式让大家挑战自己的思维，勇于思考。

剧中特别的地方时hector和Irwin都是同性恋。

而他们表达的方式却各不相同，hector老师每次回家都要带上一位学生在他的摩托车后座上，然后摸摸他们的老二。

这个方式还蛮可爱的，貌似每个学生都心知杜明，却也没有在意，因为仅仅是摸摸而已。

Irwin却不敢表现出任何行为，虽然他教育学生要做一个敢想敢做的人，自己确不敢付诸实践。

影片中几个让我记忆深刻的场景：关于阅读的美妙之处，hector的一句话说的很好：The best moment of reading is when you come across something-a thought,a feeling,a way of looking at things ,you thought special ,particular to you.Here it is,sit down by someone else,a person you never met ,may be even someone long dead,and it's like a hand coming out and taking yours. 阅读是你和作者的心灵的对话，这个作者，你从来没有见过，甚至已经死去很多年，然而你却发现在某些问题上你们心有灵犀。

hector被校长要开除的时候，那个女同事的一席惋惜也是颇有哲理，如果，当天不是那个警察值班，如果当时过马路时是绿灯，如果再过五分钟，每一个如果都可以产生一个不一样的结果，可是为什么当初就那样发生了呢。

生活中的我们何尝不是，如果自己当初没有做那件小小的事情，没有点击那个网页，没有参加那个聚会，没有捡到一本书，一切都不会是现在的这样。

可是，历史就是这样，正是由这些小事组成的，一串一串发生的。

最后，学生Dakin问老师Irwin，can we have a drink？

have a drink 只不过是一种委婉的说法，have a drink 之后的故事总是令人遐想。

只能说我太shallow，片子看完长达一周的时间，还摸不透。

只是有一些零散的片段。

1.英国最美好的事物：男校+同性恋 果然是没错的2.太多的文学文法诗歌知识，只能再次证明我的粗浅。

3.Hector是一个让人不好分辨的人。

道德真是个抽象而无耻的词。

当不同价值观碰撞的时候，一面的H是好教师，一面的H是烂老师。

由此再说到的是海南校长案。

到底是应该说孩子民风彪悍，还是说从女权主义的视角出发，抵触这种极度依附男权道德观的事情了。

所以我说道德真是个无耻而没底线的东西

原创勿转。

本片具有了一切英国精英教育的影子：男校（同龄女生的缺席），推崇美的教师，上一流大学的压倒性的任务，精英式的同性爱。

但是本片的各位男主角却缺少了那种显而易见的精英气息和使命，他们与普通的大男生没啥差别，整天作弄老师，说黄色笑话，吊儿郎当，各种低级地卖腐。

在精英的设定下，这群大男生的作为也可谓是一种讽刺。

本片初现的仿佛是两种教育理念的对立。

一方是Hector，一方是校长和Irwin。

（其实校长与Irwin也不尽一致，但在此先二元分）。

但到最后，我们发现，这不是一个关于政治讽刺、双方博弈的故事。

Hector是一个极有意思的角色。

Hector认为，教学的目的就是让学生真正热爱文学。

他代表的其实是英国传统的精英教学理念。

(讽刺的是，他是谢菲尔德大学毕业的，嘴上不说，但他心底却有着精英的崇拜情结)这里先说一下，20世纪英国的公学里曾流行着“同性恋崇拜”。

“公学成为神话，与之相关的同性恋从中国找到一种合法性和荣耀。

”而男孩们致力上的剑桥牛津则是“同性恋崇拜的象征”。

“多数教授鼓励男性之爱……他们要求将对男孩的爱意作为从古希腊衍生来的哲学理想，把它理想化，以至去除了所有感性和具体的性含义。

”这种同性恋崇拜的遗风一直在流传。

Hector高大而臃肿，头发花白，一个想象中那睿智的学者形象在银幕上看来又是有点古板和猥琐的。

(Hector这个名称也是很有意思的，Hector是荷马史诗中的特洛伊民族英雄，被学生称为Hector有什么讽刺的意味，我也搞不清楚。

)他有着英国历来的同性恋崇拜（男同性恋没女人的事）情结，认为同性恋是“一种高尚活动、纯洁的理想，”尊崇柏拉图，王尔德，奥登。

电影中多次出现了奥登，奥登本人曾就读格雷沙姆公学和牛津大学，是20-30年代英国同性恋崇拜的代表之一。

而那首“眠歌- Lullaby ”也是奥登献给情人的。

但是那个课堂上高尚地、忘我地朗诵诗篇的、将同性恋无限升华的Hector在生活中却不是那个样子的。

他在上法语课的时候纵容男生去表演妓院的情景（天你暗爽死了吧）。

甚至最爱开摩托车载男生回家（还挑男生的相貌。

），然后趁机去摸他们的蛋蛋。

天，他还有妻子！

终于有一天，他摸学生蛋蛋被交警看到了，他要被炒鱿鱼了，他还辩解说“知识传播本身就是带有色情意味”。

校长极度生气，大喊“去他的文艺复兴、去他的柏拉图、去他的米开朗基罗、去他的王尔德！

”还有梅乐思大喊：“你摸了学生的蛋蛋就是摸了，不要狡辩！

”这段我十分钟爱，就这么一句话，把Hector那似乎富有深度见解的狡辩给揭露了，把知识分子用华美的语言包装的龌蹉的行为给揭露了！

一下子什么鬼王尔德，那不齿的行为都在阳光下被刨开！

（有人知道，当年王尔德被判刑的依据最主要不是和波西搞基而是他四处嫖男妓么……虽然我很喜欢王尔德，但我还是要揭他老底）还有一幕，极能说明Hector的个性。

在Hector和Irwin共同上课的时候，他们与学生讨论犹太人屠杀。

Hector第一反应就是“天呀，你怎么可以跟学生讨论犹太人屠杀”。

然后他说“他们会在集中营拍照留念吗，他们会笑吗？

会牵手吗？

这些都不是合适”然后他激动地说“为什么我们不能直截了当地谴责集中营惨绝人寰、史无前例？

”“如此之类……殉难者仅仅化作一个微不足道的缩略词”。

这个不单单是反应了文学与历史对阐述历史事件之争，而且反应了文学对历史式的阐述的不齿。

Hector认为历史不应该被解释、不应被分解，他认为沉痛的沉默足矣。

当然我认为两者皆有可取之处，能够统一文学的情感表达和历史式的理性分析最好，但是我也认为Hector对历史的厌恨、理解过于偏激。

Hector此处表现的是作为文人的悯天怜人、也反应了他活在文人式的自我沉湎中。

毕竟，在社会实用性方面，历史的阐释远远重要过文人的沉醉。

有位男生说得好，他说“我觉得文人都是生活中的失败者”。

总结一下，Hector就是一个情感丰富、睿智的学者，同时也有着文人的懦弱、抑郁和自我沉湎。

再说说Irwin。

Irwin的教育方式我比较喜欢，再说想要考上剑桥牛津也没什么错。

最有意思的是，Irwin谎称他是牛津大学毕业的，其实他是布里斯托大学毕业的。

这也反应了他内心对牛津大学的精英意识的渴求。

再说说关于“讽刺”。

片中几处对比很有意思， Hector是谢菲尔德大学毕业的，但他却有着牛津剑桥的传统—同性恋崇拜；Hector表面要装着圣洁的同性爱人的形象，内里最爱摸学生蛋蛋，然后Dakin却直截了当地对Irwin说“你要给我口交吗”这种表面装逼和直接淫荡形成了绝妙对比；Irwin是校长钦点的让学生上牛津剑桥的老师，他自己却是Bristol的……但是这种讽刺是隔皮瘙痒的、矛盾的。

男生们（应该说是英国男生）一边厌恶着这个污浊的阶级社会的势力和虚伪，一边又迷恋着、向往着自己的优越地位。

他们一边憎恨着，一边迷恋着（青少年的传统）。

他们一边不齿Hector的非礼，一边又觉得能坐上他的后座很有趣、有意思；梅乐思老师高喊着“在女人眼中，历史没有在男人眼中那样趣味横生，为什么会这样？

因为她们没有地位……历史就是对众多无能男人的评述。

历史式什么？

历史就是女人亦步亦趋地跟在男人后面。

”大力批评了这个父权社会（特指英国），但是在戏中，背景设定在男校，女性角色少得可怜，在梅乐思说话时,Irwin还在跟Dakin调情；他们一边瞧不起学校逼着他们上牛津，但是却暗暗努力；一边觉得Irwin老师很有睿智，一边又试图勾引老师……到片尾，一切角色也竟在学生考上牛津后，重归于好，和和气气，仿佛之前的一切从没发生，一切回归到原点……最后，此片决不能视为探讨两种教育方式的片子，也不是什么大书讽刺的电影。

这不过是英国青少年在“高考”大背景下的一些青春骚动而已。

此电影向我们展示了英国师生关系中的一面，但却没有倾向，更像是轻松的幽默讽刺，即同时讽刺了Irwin和Hector，由同时赞扬了他们。

就是这种幽默讽刺的设定，让观众有些许的“科普”，也注定这部电影的深度不足。

在National Theatre 50周年庆典里看到The History Boys里的“妓院”片段，太有趣了，找来了根据戏剧改编的电影看。

演员表里有英剧Vicious里演Violet的Frances de la Tour，觉得又赚到。

本来以为是个轻松好笑的喜剧，可看完却觉得受到了“欺骗”。

电影比预想的更有灵气，也不愧为NT戏剧改编的片子，对白精彩有感染力，很多都像诗。

这是一群在谢菲尔德的高中优等生，A Level成绩基本都是3A，为进牛剑做着最后的准备。

历史老师Dorothy给他们打了很好的基础，综合课老师Hector教的知识有趣却虚无缥缈。

校长觉得学生们足够聪明，但缺乏应考的窍门和锋芒。

把这个任务交给了新聘请的临时教师Irwin，留给他的时间是3个月。

有用和无用Hector胖胖的，满头白发，永远穿三件套西服，打一个领结。

他用一种自由的、无目的的方式，讲授诗歌、戏剧、歌曲，以及一切和文字、情绪、美有关的东西。

不仅有阳春白雪，也有下里巴人，因为后者能让大家更轻松地爱上文学这个看似高不可攀的殿堂。

学生们在课堂上弹琴、唱歌、即兴表演，Hector经常讲着讲着触景生情，蹦出一句诗文……但这些像是漂在空中的气息，可以感受却无法触及，对于面临面试压力的学生来说，不实用也没有针对性。

Irwin是牛津毕业的年轻老师，一开课就觉得学生们的观点太乏味了。

考官需要的是别出心裁的见解，而不是千人一面的判断。

他鼓励大家在看似既定的事实面前，去讨论、挖掘不同的、甚至相反的观点。

就像Rudge说的，他的教学方法很cutting edge。

真相并不重要，自己是否相信也不重要，关键是有新意，毕竟这是场考试。

Hector教给学生的知识很有意思，能作为零散的小引文来点缀文章，但也仅此而已。

Irwin的到来让学生们对Hector的抵触情绪增加了，他们需要老师划重点、教技巧，讲授更有用的东西。

而不是Hector式的天马行空。

但到底，什么是有用？

Timms跟Hector抱怨为什么又讲诗歌，他们搞不懂诗歌。

Hector和他讲，自己也从来没懂过诗歌，但是现在学习它、了解它，总有一天你会理解的。

Posner和Hector讨论哈代的作品时，Hector说“阅读中最美妙的时刻是，当你有所领悟，一种思想、一种感受、一种看待事物的方式，你原以为很特别，只有你才能领会到，而在这里，另外一个人已经表达了出来。

一个你从未见过的人，甚至是死了很久的人。

然后，仿佛有一只手，伸出来抓住了你的。

”对我来说，真正有用的事物能帮我们直面孤独，有超出理智解释范畴的美感，并且治愈人心。

像鲁迅先生说的，人类的悲欢并不相通，作为群居动物，我们最终还是孤独的。

但阅读是场跨越空间和时间的对话，读到有些片段，好像心里的一个角落被击中。

突然觉得原来有人和自己分享着同样的想法，虽然不一定会见到彼此，但仰头都望着同一轮月亮。

在这些时刻，孤独的秘密突然也变得美好起来，散发着温柔的光芒。

另一些时候，我们读着书，发现它也是我们自身生活的注脚，解释了那些哭笑不得的行走戏剧。

毕竟，太阳底下并无新鲜事。

和一本书的缘分随着时间也在变化。

曾经觉得枯燥难忍的书，有一天却生动可爱起来。

曾经读来欢喜的书，再读的时候也总有新的体悟。

有时候看着一汪湖水我们突然想起了一首诗，穿行在熙攘的街上我们哼起了很久前的一首歌。

那些看似“无用”的美好，让我们在太“有用”的一日日忙碌里，享受到完整和平和。

定论和讨论Hector鼓励大家去表达真实、确定的情感，而Irwin引领学生去探索事实背后的其他可能性。

随着校长对Irwin教学方法的认可，Hector的课时要和Irwin共享，在一堂课上共同讲课。

这时，深刻和机智的矛盾也最大地被激发了出来。

Irwin在课上提议讨论大屠杀的话题，Hector反对，觉得不应该教学生这个话题，直接谴责集中营是种空前的恐怖。

但学生们觉得他的答案没有新意，要把它放进情景（context）里讨论。

接下来的一段对话很有意思。

身为犹太人的Posner生气地说，把事情放进情景里讨论，指的是那些能被理解或解释的事物。

一件事如果可以被解释，那也就可以被开脱。

Rudge在一边补充，可被理解即是可被宽恕的。

Irwin赞许到Good point。

Scripps和Irwin说，你一直说good point。

这不是重点，先生，关键是它是真实的。

（You keep saying “good point”. Not good point, sir. True!）Posner也更为抗拒地表示，对你来说大屠杀只是我们有可能考到的另一个题目。

Irwin解释到，不是这样的，但这就是历史，要把自己作为旁观者来研究它。

Hector的观点和情感是强烈、直接、纯粹的，无法因为任何目的去修饰。

而Irwin则觉得任何事情都有多面性，把自己从情感漩涡里抽离出来，就会看到更多的可能。

我其实更赞同Irwin的想法，作为一个怀疑主义者，总觉得我们没有聪明到自信掌握了绝对真理。

相信自己的情感和判断，但也欢迎并且愿意去探讨更多可能性。

但问题是，就像这个场景里探讨的，是否所有问题都有多面性？

都可以被探讨？

坦然和隐藏大多数人都隐藏了自己那个毛茸茸的尾巴，因为我们怕被人笑话。

Irwin声称自己毕业于牛津，但其实毕业于Bristol。

看似那么自信的Irwin也有自卑情绪，内心觉得自己不够聪明，什么事都不够好；Hector是个gay，但结婚多年。

他经常骑摩托车载学生回家，时不时伸一下黄油手。

虽然没有大碍，但终于被交通协管员发现。

校长以此为由要求Hector提早退休。

相比之下，Rudge清楚地知道自己想要什么，并且毫不掩饰。

他是这群人里成绩最差的，但对运动有强烈的兴趣。

在模拟面试里，老师问他如何给历史下定义？

Rudge说，就是一件混蛋的事情接着另一件。

Hector和他说，即便牛津剑桥的球队需要你，也要给面试官一个台阶下，表现出一些其他特质。

Rudge坦率地讲：“我对这个（面试）真的不行。

抱歉。

如果他们喜欢我，想录取我，那么他们会因为我既无趣又平庸而录取我。

”敏感的Posner则有着并不自知的坦然。

他从来不隐藏自己对Dakin的爱慕。

书里都说也许年轻时对同性的爱只是一个阶段，是会过去的，但Posner说，我并不想让它过去。

影片末尾，未来的Posner成为了一个像Hector一样的老师，他说自己并不快乐，但也不因此郁闷（I’m not happy, but I’m not unhappy about it）。

他和生活、和自己达成了和解。

Pass the Parcel学生们最后都有了好去处，被牛津和剑桥录取。

他们用了Irwin的方式，在essay里把希特勒写成个被误解的人，说伊丽莎白二世能力一般、只是有机会施展罢了……但Hector给他们的影响，恐怕比他们自己知道的要多。

Dakin的essay写的是历史上的转折点。

他和Irwin说，1940年张伯伦辞去首相职务时，丘吉尔并不是第一人选，Halifax其实更受欢迎。

但是在做决定的那个下午，Halifax决定去看牙医。

如果他有一口好牙的话，英国可能已经输掉了那场战争。

Irwin觉得这很有意思。

Dakin说这是虚拟历史（subjective history），Hector最爱用虚拟语气了。

Irwin听到这里笑了。

片子快结束的时候，Dakin给了Posner一个拥抱，开玩笑说是对他获得奖学金的奖励。

Posner抱怨说，这就是我期待已久的时刻吗？

也太TM短了。

Dakin又冲过去笑着抱了抱他。

这就是青春呀。

如果影片没有最后5分钟，该多美好……Hector走了，但他的“童话”世界永不落幕。

校长在悼词里说“他为学生在文学殿堂里开了一个定期账户，让他们成为那美妙文学世界的一位持股者”。

我心目中最好的老师，是像Hector那样，不只讲授知识，而是引发学生的兴趣、好奇心和鉴别美的能力，鼓励他们自由去感受、探索、表达。

能体味虚妄、无用的美才是真正的乐事。

“Pass the parcel, that’s sometimes all you can do. Take it, pass it, feel it and pass it on.”

"The best moment in reading are when you come across something...a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things that you'd thought special, particular to you, and here it is, set down by someone else, a person you've never met, maybe even someone long dead. And...it's as if a hand...has come out...and taken yours."-- From Hector.一个六十岁的老男人，是一所中学的老师，和八个年轻的男孩在一起念诗歌读文学。

唯一的安慰，可能就是每次借带他们回家的名义，给他们自己的“benedictions". 他原本想有一辆装满书的车，环游世界。

却最终在一次车祸中离开人世。

或许，这就是他的一生。

求而不可得，漫无边际的孤独，唯有书本能给自己安慰。

可是，那始终不是柔软的，有温度的，真实的手，不是吗？

抽了一个下午看完，完全没想到有同志主题，据说原版话剧很棒，应该没错，那每一句台词，别说听，光是看字幕也是享受．英伦的男同志片之多，质量之高，男色之美（Hugh Grant, Jude Law），恐怕是美国所难以企及的．同是校园题材，饱受好评的＜死亡诗社＞中师生关系展现得是如此的＂清教徒＂，如此的悲怆．那部片中的老师迫于学生自杀的压力只得离开，让人不禁悲从中来；而这部片里那胖胖的Hector交通意外身亡，都没有把人煽出眼泪来．当老师被还原成一个普通人之后，似乎不太容易引发悲剧，一切他个人的笑或泪都属于我们，一切他个人的好与坏也都会在我们身上找到，这时候被解放的不仅仅是老师本人，更是我们自己．尽管剧中人都说着难听的约克郡英语（比曼彻斯特的略好点），不过瑕不掩瑜，无论是对话还是穿插其中的钢琴伴奏清唱都美不胜收。

不过，英国式幽默的确不太好理解，特别像我这种泡在美剧里的要换个脑子还不那么容易。

剧中最出彩的除了胖子Hector以外当属女历史老师了。

在帮助学生预演入学面试的那一幕中，她提醒学生考官可能有女性，然后激情昂扬地发表了一篇“女权主义”的历史批判：Can you for a moment imagine how depressing it is to teach five centuries of masculine ineptitude? Why do you think there is no woman historians on TV? I'll tell you why because history is not such a frolic for women as for men. Why should it be? They (women) never get around the conference table. In 1919, they just ... arranged the flowers, then gracefully retired. History is a commentary on the various and continuing incapabilities of men. What is history? History is woman following behind with a bucket. 如果说这是西方女性对于西方历史的“女权主义”解读，那么我不知道就我所知的中国历史如果让我来解读是否应该是 History is women obliterated, exploited, destroyed, distorted, manipulated and manipulating men from behind. 客观一点来看，真如莫文蔚所唱的：男人大可不必百口莫辩，女人实在无须楚楚可怜。

如今的时尚是“混搭”，不仅仅是服装，还有美食，讲究fusion cuisine，电影也是如此，要么把不同族群的人混搭起来，要么把不同的元素揉在一起，成为一个美妙的大疙瘩。

考据癖如我找了找片中提到的诗歌。

例如布鲁果的《伊卡瑞斯》，众人 都悠然不顾那劫难，那农夫可能 听见了水波溅洒，呼救无望， 但是不当它是惨重的牺牲；阳光灿照， 不会不照见白净的双腿没入碧湛 的海波；那豪华优雅的海舟必然看见 一幕奇景，一童子自天而降， 却有路要赶，仍安详地向前航行。

ABOUT THE POEM: meaning:The basic premise of the poem is response to tragedy, or as the song goes "Obla Di, Obla Da, Life Goes On." The title refers to the Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels. Auden visited the museum in 1938 and viewed the painting by Brueghel, which the poem is basically about. Generalizing at first, and then going into specifics the poem theme is the apathy with which humans view individual suffering.Auden wrote that "In so far as poetry, or any of the arts, can be said to have an ulterior purpose, it is, by telling the truth, to disenchant and disintoxicate."The poem juxtaposes ordinary events and exraordinary ones, although extraordinary events seem to deflate to everyday ones with his descriptions. Life goes on while a "miraculous birth occurs", but also while "the disaster" of Icarus's death happens. background info:For those cultural barbarians who don't know the story of Icarus, here it is, in condensed form. Icarus was a Greek mythological figure, also known as the son of Daedalus (famous for the Labyrinth of Crete). Now Icarus and his dad were stuck in Crete, because the King of Crete wouldn't let them leave. Daedalus made some wings for the both of them and gave his son instruction on how to fly (not too close to the sea, the water will soak the wings, and not too close to the sky, the sun will melt them). Icarus, however, appeared to be obstinate and did fly to close to the sun. This caused the wax that held his wings to his body to melt. Icarus crashed into the sea and died. hints:Some have even claimed to find hints of Auden's eventual reconversion to Christiantiy in the poem. Richard Johnson, author of "Man's Place: An Essay on Auden", believes there is a touch of Christian awareness in the poem, especially the timeline. The reader of the poem is placed in front of the Breughel painting in a museum, and at the same time is expected to project those images and truths to the world outside. There is also a sort of continuity through the poem as you read it and are allowed to see what the poet means.
